Thank you to all of our donors and community partners for your generosity; families in need were able to celebrate with toys and goodies on Christmas morning. Toy distribution took place on one of the coldest days on record, it warmed up to 13 degrees!
Tears of gratitude were shed on this day. One single mom who recently moved to the area and is struggling burst into tears as soon as she received the back of toys for her children and a bike. Her daughter had asked for that exact bike for Christmas and she could never have imagined giving it to her. The Lewiston Corps partnered with a local prison to give out pet beds to those in need. Inmates made pet beds to donate to low-income pet owners. When an individual or family is living in poverty, pets can become a low priority. This partnership allowed those in need to provide for their furry friends too.
It's the small, miraculous moments like these that remind us how much our service of hope means to those who need it the most. From the families who rely upon The Salvation Army this season and every season, thank you for making our work possible.
